Physician assistant

The doctor's assistant is the first point of contact in the practice. She identifies any questions or problems, gives advice and makes your appointment if necessary. The assistant determines how urgent a complaint is and when you need to be seen. The assistant is specially trained for this.

The assistant may ask you to call back so that she can discuss your question/problem with the GP. If the assistant gives you independent advice, this is always discussed with the GP afterwards.

In addition, you can contact the doctor's assistant for:

  • Wound advice
  • Spraying out ears
  • Advice on and treatment of warts
  • STD test
  • Removal of sutures
  • Making smears
  • Measuring blood pressure
  • Measuring glucose

At the request of the GP/POH, the assistant also does:

  • 24-hour blood pressure measurement
  • Screening for heart rhythm disorders (Holter)
  • Cardiac ultrasound (ECG)
  • Finger prick for inflammation in infections (CRP)

You can make an appointment with the doctor's assistant by contacting the practice.
